Let me introduce you to “Uprising”, a tower defense game in a cyberpunk future by “Knocknock Games“. Your mission is to defend your fence against (yet) unknown attackers until your team is able to reach you and get you out in a “long bit”. Stay with me to learn more about this shooter game.

Defending the fence

Amazing environment

All in all the game is very impressive. I love the futuristic cyber-world style, there are plenty of details in the graphics and the background music and voice-over of our heroes fit the whole game perfectly.

Just like in other known tower defense games like “Plants vs. Zombies”, you have a  set area, which you need to defend against your enemies. Although the focus is on the fight, you get a whole introduction part to understand the underlying story of what had happened. I’m sure the story will progress in later levels as some voice-inputs are foreshadowing it, but I didn’t make it very far since the game is quite challenging.

Help to survive

There are a few factors, which would have helped me to improve my performance. I’m sure that I’m not the best shooter, but I found it quite hard to refill the weapons during the gameplay, leading to me being overrun each time. It might have helped me if it was possible to see the instructions again as well, which are shown when new elements are added to the game. There are a lot of details and quite a few things going on so that I lost the overview to find a perfect strategy.

I have a feeling that you need to level up fast to be able to unlock certain weapons and gadgets to be able to move on, unfortunately, you need to be very brave to do so. You run out of courage fast and there are only two options to find new motivation: You either wait for 13 minutes or you buy yourself some courage. It’s not often that I wish there was some advertisement to watch, but I would prefer this option if I really want to keep playing. In my case, it made me stop playing as I didn’t like this forced break too much.
