Versatile adventure

On the one hand, “Tankz Alert” gives you this old school feeling of a classic shooter game, but on the other hand, it feels very fresh having a nice combination of fighting and upbeat background music.

You don’t only choose what missions you want to do or if you want to compete against other players in the survival mode of this game, but you also play as a fighter by foot, driving a tank or flying a helicopter. Even as a soldier on the ground you still have many options – what kind of weapon do you want to use? It seems like this game doesn’t leave any fighting-desires unfulfilled.

Even though there are various tasks, the controls are surprisingly easy. You just press on the left bottom corner of the screen to move in your desired direction and tap on the right side to shoot and turn or turn a bit faster without shooting. There are also run-through instructions, in the beginning. So, you can successfully start right away.

On your own

I just wished the instructions would be more detailed in some parts. It’s probably because I don’t play shooters very often, but I found it a bit difficult to find out where I was and where I should be in the beginning. Some simple advice would have helped me very much to find better orientation. I would like to have a small map included for a better overview but I guess there is not much space in this mobile game.

I would also like to be able to enter another vehicle after losing the one, which I started a mission with. There are more helicopters or tanks from your own team, so why not? I think it would add some more fun to it.
