Strange Case: The Alchemist Review
27. October 2019Bin Boing Review
27. October 2019Do you like Pixel Art and that nostalgic feeling coming along with it? Well, if you are looking for an adventure in this awesome style, you don’t need to keep searching, just have a look at “OneBit Adventure” by “Galactic Slice”.
Create your own story
I absolutely adore the characters in this game and it’s even better that you can choose which kind of avatar you want to play with from the very beginning. Like real fighters, they all have their strengths and weaknesses and are recommended to beginners accordingly, setting you up for a great start. After selecting your hero, you simply start moving and fighting against the enemies, picking up apples and other food to regain strength or visiting the fireplace to restore all your energy.
There are many details and objects to find as well as enemies to overcome, but the level design is very accommodating. You need to keep your health level checked and make sure to heal yourself at the right timing but if you don’t forget about it, it’s easy to stay alive for a long time – even at the first try, which makes you pulled into the game pretty fast.
Just keep moving
I really enjoyed the game but I still would add some details. As I mentioned before, you should not forget to heal yourself. But this is actually easier said than done. Since you really get into the game, thinking about where to go next, which enemy to avoid or which one to destroy, you might forget to check your health scale. If there was a small reminder if you are close to death, it could be very helpful.
I would also like to see or read about what the end goal of the game is. Is there a reward waiting at the end of never-ending enemies or do I just walk and kill to survive time? I would also like to compare my results with other players, which would add some kind of goal as well. Competition is always a good reason to keep playing. 😉
