Brain Blocks Review
22. September 2017ProgressiveClicker Review
23. September 2017Vampire's Gold is a great Sokoban Game, where Indiana Jones meets Count Dracula.
V is for Vampire
B is for Blood
Now give me your money
I’ll give you my love
Yep, Powerman 5000, one of my favorite bands of all times, should have contributed the soundtrack for this game. The reason is obvious: “Vampire’s Gold” by PodHod is about Vampires, death and money. And I love it.
Sharp Style
“Vampire’s Gold” is a classic Sokoban Game in the form of a retro style adventure with a keen adventurer (that’s you!), golden coins and shiny diamonds (that’s what you want!) and gruesome vampires hunting you to death (that is necessary to avoid!). Although we ain’t got real-time action, but turn-based Sokoban rounds, the approaching vampires seem surprisingly threateningly and the gameplay actually kept me in suspense. I do also like the little details, that make the game even interesting at second sight. Like the chance to compress vampires into diamonds. Well, it’s a carbon-based lifeform after all. 🙂
Bloody Sounds
On the con side, I have to mention the soundscape, that is as lifeless as if a vampire sucked it dry as a bone. There is no music at all and the sounds are unintentionally funny – at best. Also, the animations are brokenly and jerky, but I don’t think, that this is a huge problem, because it sits well on a Sokoban Game. Plus, it doesn’t affect the fun factor at any point, and you’ll have a lot of fun with these countless, perfectly designed puzzles.
- Exciting Gameplay
- Many Levles
- Great Puzzles
- Background Music
- Better Sounds
- Better Animations… maybe.
The Verdict
“Vampire’s Gold” is a highly enjoyable game for everyone – even if you like vampire’s or not. It’s a classic Sokoban Game with many entertaining levels, that are quite easy to master. Download the game here.
