What kind of game is the best after a long day? I would definitely say: a relaxing game. If you feel the same, check out this review of “.Connect.” by “SidKinG”, a puzzle game, which comes in a “relax” and a “brain” mode.

Celebrating a good connection

Unwind while activating your brain power

As the title might have made you guess, the goal of the game is to make the right connection. Therefore you need to link the stones of the same color with each other, starting with blue and red and being challenged with more colors when leveling up.

The game comes with two play modes. The first option is the “relax” mode, in which you simply try to connect the stones but don’t have any pressure. I find the name very fitting as the soothing background music and the minimalistic game design match very well and create a great puzzle game. I also like the change of colors for each level and confetti detail for celebrating a win.

If you feel like you need a harder challenge though, there is the second mode, the “brain” mode. If you choose this option, you will have a certain amount of moves, with whom you need to solve the puzzle.

Competing with yourself

I like that there are two game modes but I would prefer it if they actually had different boards. You always need to unlock the next level, so you can’t skip certain puzzles and if you want to switch to the “brain” mode, you have to solve the same boards as before. Maybe they could be mixed up or changed a little bit to make it even more fun.

I also think that the challenging mode could have a time tracker, so you can compete with your friends even better, which you can easily do if you sign into your Google Play account.

A piece of second background music could be a nice addition as well, not saying that I don’t like the music. I’m just a fan of having various options, especially if I am playing a game for a longer period.
