"File Expert" is an extremely powerful productivity app and maybe the best file manager for Android.
What do you think: Is there a relevance threshold for reviews? Is every app worth a review? Does the number of downloads or the name of the developer matter? Well, if you ask me personally, I don’t think so. I was always a big fan of indie games and small development studios and I don’t think that quality is always connected with popularity.
However, if there was a relevance threshold, “File Expert” by “GMobile Apps” would have surpassed it. With almost 10.000.000 installs, it is one of the most popular productivity apps on Google Play. Let’s find out why.
I don’t know how you feel about this, but my phone is a mess. And there’s no wonder why: Like everyone else, I am taking pictures, making screenshots, downloading files, installing apps, transferring music and doing so many other things leaving marks on the internal or external storage.
So far, so good. But what do you do, if you’re searching for a specific file extension? Or if you would like to sync files between your local storage and your cloud at OneDrive or Dropbox? Or your own private cloud? No matter what you want to do with your files – the implemented file manager of your Android device can’t handle even a single one of these scenarios.
This app is a productivity machine. You can access all your files, manage them, browse them, sync them – in a unique multiple tab file management system. The File Expert provides a LAN access for FTP and clouds including Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, GCloud and other services. It is possible to compress and decompress your files and even use the built-in video and music player. Actually, I can’t even imagine a use case this app won’t cover.
This file expert knows best. Maybe too well? Before using the app, you have to give a lot of permissions, even to make phone calls. This permission is required to verify users purchase status, but I understand that a few users don’t have a good feeling about this. Also, the massive amount of functions outranks the number of explanations in the tutorial. The app struggles by showing the users its full potential. Maybe it could explain a bit more so that even inexperienced users can make use of all features.
And they should. You should. We all should, because “File Expert” is useful to everyone who uses the data storage of his or her smartphone. Download the app here on Google Play.
