Cube Rogue
Get your smartphone out of your pocket, because you will download this game after reading this review. I guarantee it!

6 years ago, I did a review of Wonderputt, a mini golf game developed with Adobe Flash. And somehow, “Cube Rogue” by “CraftMob Studio” reminds me of this game. Is it the somehow-isometric view? The strong and contrasty colors? The chamber drama-esque gameplay?

No matter what it is, if “Cube Rogue” is also a game with such a great overall quality as the said above, I’m totally in!

Perfect Level Design

Only two weeks ago, I’ve praised Rywo for a level design that is “extraordinary, marvelous, actually unprecedented in the history of this genre”. Well, it seems like there are now two games sharing the #1 spot. Seriously, the level design of “Cube Rogue” is absolutely perfect and all the riddles are on point.

Same goes for the graphics. All animations, colors, even the zoom, and the resolution are flawless. The visuals are simply fantastic and it’s a pleasure for the eye to play the game.

Also, I’ve enjoyed the inspirational quotes appearing in the transition between the levels. Very cool, me likey. 🙂

Gimme fuel, gimme fire!

Here it comes: The very, very, first time, that I criticise a game for being too easy instead of too difficult.

Look through all my reviews! Bounce Me. Too difficult. Shape-Cast. No learning curve. Unborn. Impossible to win. I repeat the same thing over and over again: “The game is too tough, it’s not beginner-friendly at all, the learning curve is too steep.” This time, it’s the exact opposite. I’m not prepared for this, I don’t even know which words to use!

But it’s a fact: Even after playing a handful of levels, the game still takes me by the hand and protects me from anything that happens. It’s like playing an endless tutorial without knowing when the real action begins. Combined with the slow performance (on our Galaxy J5 and Asus Zenfone Selfie) and the non-immediate respawn, the game is rather slow-paced and in need of a catalyst. Gimme fuel, gimme fire, gimme that, which I desire!
